Bayern Munchen would be keen on sealing a quick agreement for the signing of Raphael Varane.

Manchester United’s coach Erik Ten Hag could have very soon a new absence in the team in one of the weakest areas in the squad, as Bayern Munchen would be ready to make a great effort to sign the French defender Raphael Varane in the next few weeks as one of their top targets in the January transfer market window.

According to the English Channel Sky Germany, Bayern Munchen would be following the steps of the French center-back, and once the Bavarian team seems destined to suffer the absences of Matthijs De Ligt due to injury and the one of Kim-Min-Jae due to his participation in the Asian Cup, Thomas Tuchel would have requested the German side to speed up in the negotiation for the Manchester United player.

In this sense, even the Bayern Munchen sporting director, Christoph Freund, recently recognized that a player could soon arrive to the Bavarian squad. “We are short of players at the back, so in the coming weeks we have work to do”, revealed Freund, who would have Varane on the top of his wishlist for the position.

Manchester United will ask €25 million for the player

Following the information given by Sky, Manchester United would be willing to receive at least €25 million for their player, which would have made Bayern to consider alternative targets to Varane, having set the name of the Aston Villa player Clement Lenglet as one of the biggest options in case the negotiations with the Red Devils aren’t successful in the next few weeks.
