Conor Gallagher’s impressive stats to improve €232 midfielder duo at Chelsea

Chelsea’s midfielder Conor Gallagher has went under the spotlight in the last few hours, as he completed a great performance in the game facing Chelsea against Newcastle in the Carabao Cup quarter finals, where the Blues finally advanced to the next round of the competition in the penalty shootout after achieving a 1-1 draw in the regular time.

Gallagher, who has been subject of controversy in the last few weeks, has been recently linked with a potential transfer in the January transfer market window, where Chelsea would expect to seal an agreement for the player to sell him at €50 million to raise funds to reinvest in the market.

However, the player proved his quality to secure a spot in the team’s midfield with a sensational performance, where he completed impressive stats which would have improved the numbers delivered by the €232 million-rated midfield duo Enzo Fernandez and Moises Caicedo according to the sporting data company Opta Sport. The trio have played virtually the same amount of matches, but Gallagher has clocked up 200 more minutes than Fernandez and 230 more than Caicedo.

He creates more chances than his teammates

Following these sources, the South America duo are also yet to register an assist between them either, but Gallagher already has four to his name. As for chances created, he has three more than Fernandez’s 24, and 21 of Gallagher’s chances have been created from open play too; but his technical proficiency gets even more impressive, as he also leads the way with passes made, boasting a 91.87 per cent success rate, which currently leads him ahead of the expensive duo as better performer than them at Chelsea.
