The Dutchman revealed the fitness of the English playmaker

Manchester United’s coach Erik Ten Hag surprised the media and the fans in the last club’s press conference ahead of their next away game against Newcastle United in the St. James’ Park Stadium on the fourteenth day of the 2023/2024 Premier League season, as the Dutchman provided an incredible injury update on his player Mason Mount.

In this sense, it would be worth mentioning that the English international was announced injured in the previous hours to the game against Everton in Goodison Park, leaving him out of the squad traveling to Merseyside due to a muscle injury, which according to the British media could keep him out of the pitch for at least one month.

For this reason, it was a great surprise for the media and the fans to know from the voice of his coach that the player would be almost ready to start his recovery, and could be available in the next few weeks to join the squad again. “Mason Mount is returning on the pitch today but I don't know how long it will take at this moment”, he explained.

The player has barely played with United this season

In this respect, it would be worth mentioning that Mason Mount has barely played with Manchester United this season. In fact, after having joined the Red Devils in the summer transfer window from Chelsea for €64 million, he has only played eight Premier League games from 13 completed by the Red Devils, which could be really little for a player announced as crucial in the summer and given the iconic club’s number seven shirt.
