One of the world's best full-backs was on Guardiola's radar, but he is heading to Anfield.

Liverpool are still on the lookout for the best players to accompany them in the Premier League next season. They will no doubt be envious of what Manchester City achieved this weekend by winning the UEFA Champions League.

Josep Guardiola's side beat Inter Milan 1-0 to be crowned champions of the continent. Erling Haaland fulfils his dream of having been the competition's best player despite failing to score in the final match.

Guardiola already has a list of players he wants for next season with the Citizens, and one of them would be playing in Germany. However, Liverpool and Jürgen Klopp will be standing in the way of that.

The French player, who is so desired by English Premier League sides, has been very successful in the Bundesliga, but would no longer fit into the plans of one of Europe's most powerful clubs. Both Guardiola and Klopp are looking to talk to the defender in order to bring him into their ranks.

The portal fichajes.com announces that Benjamin Pavard is closer to a move to Liverpool at the moment. The Bayern Munich player is not being taken into account by Tomas Tuchel and the Reds are reportedly offering more than 30 million euros for his services.
