Manchester United’s defender Harry Maguire surprised the football fans in the last few hours appearing in an interview with the English journal Daily Express where he spoke on the criticism created around him this season with Manchester United and the events recently occurred in the England national team’s last game played against Scotland in Hampden Park.

In the interview, Maguire insisted he can deal with the abuse that has outraged England manager Gareth Southgate in the last few hours, also revealing the reason why he would not have left Manchester United in the Premier League transfer market deadline despite having received an offer from West Ham to leave the club.

The English defender recognized to have a huge responsibility for the own goal conceded against Scotland and defended himself stating that he can deal with mental pressure. “I would not say I am a person who struggles with pressure mentally, I have been through a lot in the last couple of years and I have been Manchester United captain for nearly four years”, stated Maguire.

Maguire also confessed having received an offer from West Ham in the summer, but an agreement could not be reached. “We just didn’t come to an agreement and they were happy for me to stay and I was happy to fight for my place. I want to do that and every time I train or play I will give everything”, explained Maguire
