Chelsea’s new midfielder Moises Caicedo, who was unveiled with the Blues in the last few hours after arriving to the Stamford Bridge team for 133 million from Brighton, unveiled the number he will wear with the Blues and surprised everyone among the football fans by bringing back an iconic number in Chelsea’s history.

In this sense, Chelsea’s official media put in sale the official Chelsea’s Moises Caicedo shirt in their online shop, and posted images of the shirt on their official social media in the last few hours, giving a huge surprise to all the football fans when they saw the number the Ecuadorian player picked.

In this respect, and as it could be seen, Moises Caicedo will wear the Chelsea number 25 shirt, which belonged to the Italian striker Gianfranco Zola in the late 1990s, when the Italian striker played for the Blues after arriving from Parma. Zola completed 311 games with Chelsea, scoring 79 goals and giving 29 assists with the Blues from 1996 to 2003, and now Moises Caicedo will recover his iconic Chelsea number 25 shirt.

Moises Caicedo picked the number for an emotional reason

In this respect, and according to the English journal Daily Mail, Moises Caicedo would have had an emotional reason to take the number 25 at Chelsea, which he used to wear when he was at Brighton. The Ecuadorian player is a huge admirer of his compatriot Antonio Valencia, who played for Manchester United from 2009 to 2019 wearing the number 25, and when Caicedo joined Brighton in 2021 from Independiente del Valle decided to wear that number in the Premier League as a tribute to his idol career in the English football.
