Jürgen Klopp could have a new and cheaper target in the market

Liverpool’s coach Jürgen Klopp keeps on looking for a player to perform the number 6 role in his team after the signing of Moises Caicedo for Chelsea, while another Liverpool’s target like Romeo Lavia could be joining the Blues too in the next few hours. In this sense, Klopp would have already identified another target to follow and sign in the next few days to finally complete his team’s midfield improvement.

In this respect, and according to the Italian journalist and transfer specialist Fabrizio Romano, Liverpool could be now behind the steps of the young center back Carlos Baleba from Lille, valued at €30 million and already being pursued by Brighton as Moises Caicedo’s replacement for the team.

Following the Fabrizio Romano sources, Liverpool could be then joining Brighton in the race to sign the player to be a potential Caicedo’s replacement. Baleba is a 19-year-old Cameroonian player who has had a meteoric improvement since his arrival to Lille’s academy in 2021 from the Cameroonian club Brasseries, having played more than 900 minutes with the French club between the academy and the first team games.

Liverpool could be ready to make a quick move for the player

According to Romano, Liverpool could start talks for the player in the next few days, and a quick move could grant the player’s arrival overcoming Brighton in the race to sign the player, who played 25 games with Lille last season and has already completed his first game with the French club this season.
