Manchester United has made a number of attempts to sign Mason Mount

Manchester United was shaping up to be one of the most active teams during the summer transfer window, as Red Devils manager Erik ten Hag believed the team is a couple of pieces away from becoming a contender to win the Premier League next season and one of the players the Dutch tactician is most interested in is Mason Mount.

Manchester United have had Chelsea midfielder Mason Mount on their radar for weeks, as Erik ten Hag believes he could be one of the key players in the team's new project, however negotiations with the Blues have been more complicated than expected, as the Old Trafford board has made several attempts to sign Mount, but all of them have been rejected.

However, it seems that Manchester United will not give up their fight to sign the 24-year-old midfielder and, according to Fabrizio Romano, final negotiations between the two sides will take place between today and tomorrow to finalize a deal for Mount's transfer fee.

United's latest offer, which is still on the table, is around 63 million euros, which is very close to the 60 million euros at which the Transfermarkt portal currently values Mason Mount. Considering that Mount has only one year left on his contract and that he has already expressed to the London board his intention to come to Old Trafford, it seems to be a matter of time before the signing goes through.

Erik ten Hag has had enough

In addition to the difficult negotiations with Chelsea for the signing of Mason Mount, Erik ten Hag would be very upset by the situation that Manchester United is going through with respect to the sale of the team, as this has caused budgetary uncertainty and, therefore, that the Dutch tactician has not yet been able to finalize a single reinforcement for next season.
