They strongly regret that decision, as they haven’t been able to find a player like Julian yet

Julian Alvarez has become one of the most promising players in the Premier League. The 23-year-old player completed 49 games played with Manchester City last season, giving 5 assists and scoring 17 goals in all competitions, and he is getting ready for a new challenging season under Pep Guardiola’s management.

The Argentine player was even able to win an historic treble for his club, conquering Premier League, Champions League and FA Cup with Manchester City, after having won the World Cup with Argentina and having closed a brilliant period with River Plate, where he achieved several personal records, and conquered the Libertadores Cup and the Argentine League.

Such a successful career could be expected by some football experts, but some European clubs who were linked with Julian Alvarez some years ago, currently regret not having taken the right choice to sign him when they had the chance.

The story could have been different for this club

One of those teams is FC Barcelona, who was strongly linked with a potential Julian Alvarez signing when the player was at River Plate. In this sense, in the last few hours, the Catalan coach Josep Maria Miguella has revealed that he offered Julian to FC Barcelona for €20 million, to be paid in 5 installments, but they rejected it and instead signed Ferran Torres from Manchester City for €60M, who has barely been able to show his potential at the club. The news has surprised the FC Barcelona fans, who have claimed on the social media about the bad decisions taken by their dirigeants.
