Chelsea unveiled their most recent signing the Ecuadorian Moises Caicedo, who arrived to the Blues for 133 million from Brighton in the last few hours to set a new record in the Premier League’s history after having snubbed Liverpool and decided to join the Blues in this transfer market window.

The signing of the Ecuadorian 21-year-old player sets a new record in the league, where Caicedo is now the most expensive player in Premier League’s history, breaking the last record set by Enzo Fernandez, who arrived from Benfica for €120 million last year or the arrival of Declan Rice to Arsenal for €116 million from West Ham.

In this sense, Caicedo would be set as the most expensive signing in all the world, and he would have also entered in the history of the South American football being the South American most expensive player in football history, after overcoming Enzo Fernandez himself and even Neymar Junior latest signing for a €140 million package, very far from the €133 million paid for Caicedo by Chelsea.

Moises Caicedo’s signing would be also a great business for South American football

In this respect, it is worth mentioning that the South American football would be benefited with the Moises Caicedo’s transfer to Chelsea, since the Ecuadorian player’s former team, Independiente del Valle, would also take a part of the money paid in the deal between Chelsea and Brighton, since the Ecuadorian team sold Caicedo to Brighton for €5 million and the 20% of the player’s potential sale in 2021, and two years later Independiente del Valle would receive €30 million for the player according to Sky Sports.
