The City manager held nothing back against his old rival and is looking to revive the rivalry in the past.

It is no surprise that Pep Guardiola is one of the most successful managers in recent times in the Premier League. But that doesn't mean the Spaniard also has a temper and wants to be in the middle of controversy all the time with his fellow coaches.

Guardiola, who has built epoch-making teams with the likes of Lionel Messi, Xavi Hernandez and Andres Iniesta at Barcelona and the Bayern Munich side of Frank Ribery and Arjen Robben, is looking to make history with the Citizens in this great footballing year.

And just days before the big game of the Champions League final against Inter Milan, he has held nothing back for a former rival and nemesis at press conferences. Today's AC Roma coach and UEFA Europa League runner-up Jose Mourinho. One of the men who has annoyed the great Pep the most and who holds nothing back when he needs to criticise him for his actions and words.

But let's remember that this is not new. It all started a few years ago, when Guardiola and Mourinho were coaches of FC Barcelona and Real Madrid respectively. Even before that, when they met in the semi-finals of the UEFA Champions League where The Special One beat the Iberian and then went on to win the competition with Inter Milan.

What did Guardiola have to say about Mourinho's attitudes?

At a press conference, Guardiola said he was sorry for what happened with referee Anthony Taylor in the UEFA Europa League final, where the Portuguese coach had an altercation with the referee and caused some disagreements in the dugout a few minutes before going to penalties and losing to Sevilla. Pep will have one more test for City when they face Manchester United in the FA Cup.
