Manchester City and England former manager Sven Goran Eriksson announced to have a serious cancer.

English football was slammed in the last few hours by one of the most unexpected and horrible news that has blossomed in the last few months, as a veteran and successful manager who coached Manchester City and the England national team announced to be living a worrying health situation that could end with him dying in the near future.

The manager in question is the Swedish coach Sven Goran Eriksson, who coached Manchester City in 2007 after having managed the Golden Generation of England national team since 2001, having worked with stars such as David Beckham, Wayne Rooney, Steven Gerrard, Frank Lampard and Rio Ferdinand in two World Cups and one European Championship.

The Swedish coach went again under the spotlight in the last few hours, when he revealed that he suffers from terminal cancer and has "about a year" to live, as he told Swedish radio station P1, a statement that immediately went viral among the fans and the media of English and world football.

The manager said to be ready to fight against the disease

"Everyone can see that I have a disease that is not good, and everyone assumes it is cancer, and it is. But I have to fight it as long as possible," the Swede told P1, according to Reuters, adding "I know at best it's about a year, at worst even less. I don't think the doctors I have can be totally sure, they can't give it a day".
