England national team’s coach Gareth Southgate made important changes in the lineup to face Italy in Wembley on the eighth day of the Euro 2024, where the Three Lions needed a win against the Azurra to secure the first position of the group and the possible qualification for the European tournament.
Southgate, whose team will look for getting a payback against Italy, who defeated them in the Euro 2020 final, returned important players such as Stones, Maguire, Bellingham, Rice, Foden and Kane to the team’s lineup after having rested in the friendly game where they defeated Australia.
Meanwhile, on their side, Italy presented important absences in the squad due to the betting scandal involving the Premier League players Sandro Tonali, Nicolo Zaniolo, who were withdrawn from the team for the game, where the AS Rome players Cristante and El Shaarawy were the players replacing them.
England will try to win the game against Italy with the following lineup: Pickford; Walker, Stones, Maguire, Trippier; Phillips, Rice, Bellingham; Foden, Kane, Rashford. From the bench, the following players will wait for their opportunity to join the game: Guehi, Johnstone, Henderson, Dunk, Colwill, Trent Alexander Arnold, Gallagher, Watkins, Grealish, Maddison, Ramsdale, Bowen.
