The English coach gave rest to some of the most important players at the Three Lions

England national team’s coach Gareth Southgate surprised the media and the fans with a revolutionary lineup to play their friendly game against Australia in Wembley ahead of their next game against Italy on the sixth day of the EURO 2024 qualifiers on Tuesday, when the Three Lions will look for an important victory to consolidate their leadership in their group against a direct rival.

In this sense, in the friendly game against Australia, Southgate set several changes in the lineup to test new players and give some minutes of rest to important players such as Walker, Bellingham, Foden, Stones, Rice and Harry Kane, giving entry to players like Bowen and Watkins.

On their side, the Australian team arrives to the game with a poor streak of two games winless against Argentina and Mexico, despite they defeated their last European rival, Denmark, in the last World Cup in Qatar achieving an important 1-0 win against the Danish team in the World Cup group stage with a single goal scored by Mathew Leckie, who will not be in the squad to play against England.

Maguire will start from the bench against the Socceroos

England will try to achieve a lucrative win against the Socceroos with the following lineup: Johnstone; Alexander Arnold, Tomori, Colwill, Dunk; Gallagher, Henderson, Maddison; Bowen, Watkins, Grealish. From the bench, the following players will wait for a chance to join the game:Trippier, Pickford, Maguire, Walker, Stones, Guehi, Rice, Rashford, Kane, Foden, Ramsdale, Kalvin Phillips, Bellingham, Nketiah.
