The German coach can influence his players even when he is not with them.

England's great win on matchday 3 of group c in the qualifiers for the 2024 European Championship to be held in Germany. Gareth Southgate's side thrashed Malta 4-0 with an over-performance from their best players.

Harry Kane was able to keep adding to his tally and is already one of the top scorers in England's history. Even with speculation that he could be on the move to Real Madrid or Manchester United for next season, the Manchester United for next season, the striker did not lose his concentration and scored the long-awaited penalty.

But it was Trent Alexander-Arnold who really surprised. Known for being a defensive midfielder he was given the number 10 shirt so a change of position was imminent and he proved it with a great goal in the 29th minute.

The Liverpool player has a lot to thank his manager Jürgen Klopp for, because with the help he gave him he was able to perform better and it has given Southgate a new vision of how to get him on the pitch and help his teammates in a better way.

What did Klopp do with Trent's game?

Southgate put Trent Alexander-Arnold in as a right-sided midfielder and not just another defender. That helped him to spread the pitch and get better long passes out to his teammates, who dominated Malta throughout the game. Something he had trained with Klopp at Liverpool all season.
