What seemed like just another modest Balearic football match has become news throughout Spain due to the referee's performance. It all happened in the confrontation between Serverense B and Murense, a duel on the eleventh day of group E in the First Youth Regional of Mallorca.
Both teams came into the clash in the middle of the table, with the locals having added 18 points in their first ten matches, compared to the 13 that the visitors had obtained. Joventut Mallorca and San Cayetano, for their part, with 29 and 28 respectively, are the two leading teams in the classification at this start.
The clash began with Murense dealing the first blow thanks to a goal from Jaume Crespi after four minutes. Despite this, Serverense B recovered and turned the score around with a double from Juan José Cañas already in the second half. The visitors went all out looking for the second, and when they went into stoppage time the scandal arrived.
With a shot from inside the area that caught the goalkeeper on the wrong foot after receiving from the wing, Joan Jordi Vives tied the score in the 93rd minute. The 2-2 seemed to be final and made the entire visiting team explode with joy, but then the players Serverense's center was taken and the referee allowed the play to continue even though there was no player from the other team in their field.
This ended 3-2 for the locals, the work of Daniel Roldán. A goal that also came when it was clearly offside. Despite this, the referee of the match, Francisco Vivas Páez, validated the goal in the face of protests from the Murense footballers.
