The fever for the long-distance rivalry between Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo is growing by the day. The Argentine set social media alight with the announcement of his move to MLS side Inter Miami, while Ronaldo wants revenge with Saudi Arabia's Al-Nassr after losing the title in the last few rounds.
Both players have commitments before returning to their clubs. The Argentine will face Australia in Indonesia as part of a tour of friendly matches, while the Portuguese will be at the 2024 European Cup qualifier against Bosnia and Herzegovina at the Lisbon Stadium.
Messi has yet to officially sign, but David Beckham has put a verbal agreement in place and they are waiting for him to finish his commercial commitments before making the official announcement. While Ronaldo will have a new rival in the form of former Real Madrid team-mate Karim Benzema, who was signed from Al-Ittihad.
The comparisons have not been long in coming, because while in Miami there is still no official jersey with Messi's name and the number 10 on the back, the brand of drinking water that CR7 has brought out is already available in Madrid at an incredible price and that fans have begun to go viral.
Cristiano Ronaldo's water brand called URSU9 is already in shops in the Spanish territory and costs 70 cents euros, which is quite economical and will give the multi UEFA Champions League winner another successful business outside of his extensive career in professional football.
