Arsenal hosts Liverpool in the Emirates Stadium in the third round of the FA Cup, where both teams will try to get a win to advance to the next round of the tournament, presented as the possibility to join the race to conquer an important title in English football and drop a rival in the way to the final of the competition.
Arsenal’s coach Mikel Arteta set Aaron Ramsey as his main goalkeeper against the Reds, and he included in his squad the presence of the three young players Lino Sousa, Ethan Nwaneri and Reuell Walters, who already were about to have some minutes with the senior team in Arsenal’s away game against PSV in Champions League this season. The manager left out of the squad to Gabriel Jesus due to a knee injury, replacing him with Havertz performing as a false nine in the lineup.
On their side, Liverpool arrived to the game without Mohamed Salah nor Wataru Endo, who are with their national football teams, and their manager, Jürgen Klopp, included Alexis Mac Allister in his lineup against the Gunners after the Argentine midfielder recovered from a tough injury and excluded Virgil Van Dijk and Szoboszlai from the squad to give them rest and place Quansah and Elliott in the starting XI.
