Douglas Luiz scored a late goal from the penalty spot to seal the Aston Villa's 3-2 win over Burnley.

Unai Emery’s Aston Villa got a really important 3-2 victory against Burnley in Villa Park on the twentieth day of the 2023/2024, where the Villains sealed their dominance with a penalty converted at the last minutes of the game after a great reaction from their rival, who was about to surprise them with their classy and adventurous football.

Aston Villa opened the scoring in the 28th with a goal by Leon Bailey, who fired into the roof of the net from an Ollie Watkins assist to break the deadlock, which was responded through Zeki Amdouni with a great volley that made the equalizer for a combative Burnley only three minutes later.

The Villains got the lead of the game before the halftime through a goal scored by Moussa Diaby in the 42nd, few minutes before Burnley went down to 10 players when Sander Berge was shown a second yellow card for a tug on Douglas Luiz’s shirt, which increased the confidence of the locals at the start of the second half.
