Bad news for Tottenham, they will lose these four key players for the next games

Spurs will have serious problems in the squad for different reasons.

bad news for coach Postecoglou.

This Sunday Tottenham got an important 3-1 victory against Bournemouth in London that allowed them to turn the page and leave behind the blow they received against Brighton & Hove Albion last week. They showed a good performance, outplayed their opponents throughout the match and got three points that brought them closer to the top of the Premier League standings.

In fact, they are now only three points behind Liverpool and Aston Villa, the tournament leaders. But that gap could double if The Reds beat Newcastle at Anfield Road on Monday. Nevertheless, Spurs are optimistic that they will be able to compete until the end of the season for the title, something they have not achieved for decades.

The problem is that every week coach Ange Postecoglou is finding it more difficult to put together a starting lineup. Injuries have been a decisive factor for them throughout the season, as many important players in the squad have been sidelined for a long time due to physical issues. Cristian Romero, Micky Van De Ven and James Maddison are among the stars who are currently unable to play.

And they were joined by two more last Sunday. Pape Sarr, who had scored the opener, had to be replaced during the first half of the game against Bournemouth because of a muscle problem. About him, the coach said: "Pape felt his hamstring. We're hoping it's nothing too serious". And Alejo Veliz was also unable to finish the game, even though he had come on just a few minutes earlier.

They are not the only ones

In addition to the injured players, Tottenham will lose two other stars for the upcoming matches. In just over a week's time, the Asian Cup and African Cup will begin, and so English clubs are obliged to release players who are called up by their respective national teams. Heung-Min Son will go to South Korea, while Yvess Bissouma will do the same for Mali.
