Liverpool go for the quadruple, Klopp’s team won Chelsea in Carabao Cup Final
Undoubtedly, the defeat of the Blues will contribute to fuel the controversy towards Mauricio Pochettino in West London, as the fans were massively complaining on social media about the team performance during the final.
Among the main criticisms of Pochettino’s team was the lack of effectiveness shown by superstars in the squad like Christopher Nkunku, Mijailo Mudryk, Conor Gallagher or Nicolas Jackson, who missed clear scoring chances for the Blues.
However, the players weren’t the only figures slammed by the Chelsea fans on the social media, as the most of their criticism was addressed to Mauricio Pochettino’s figure, which was subject of controversy by highlighting the manager’s lack of efficiency to show solidity in important games, which could also have consequences for the manager in the next few months.

In this sense, despite the possibility of Chelsea sacking Pochettino is uncertain at the moment, the manager could have sealed his exit from the club with the team’s defeat in the Carabao Cup. With the defeat, the manager lost one of the few possibilities he had to classify the team for European competitions, which could be one of the main requests made by Chelsea’s owner Todd Boehly to keep him in the charge, as the Argentine could be now living his last few months as the coach of the Blues.
