The Chelsea legend John Terry surprised the media and the fans in the last few hours by making a shocking revelation about a player whom he considers to be destined to be his successor at the West London team, and urged the manager Mauricio Pochettino to give the player more minutes on the pitch in the second part of the season.

The player in question is the young English 20-year-old wonderkid Alfie Gilchrist, who came off the bench to make his senior debut with Chelsea in the 92nd minute of the Blues’ last Premier League home against Crystal Palace and has been labeled by the fans as a promising gem in the squad.

However, John Terry went further, as the Blues’ legendary defender highlighted the defender’s unbelievable attitude during the minutes he was on the pitch against the Eagles. Gilchrist, who has been at the club since the age of eight, attracted the attention of Terry and was strongly hailed by the retired defender.

Terry sent a clear message on the player’s future

In this sense, Terry, who was at the club managing Chelsea's academy, was really happy for the appearance of Gilchrist with the Blues, and sent a clear message on the player’s future. “I'm expecting big things from Alf, expecting him to play hopefully a game or two as the season goes on”, revealed Terry, who considers Gilchrist the next big appearance of the club’s academy after himself.
