Manchester City got a massive 5-0 victory against Huddersfield Town in the Etihad Stadium in the third round of the FA Cup to advance to the next phase of the tournament after having given a master class of football possession and crafty combinations during the clash, where they dominated their rival and hammered it with 5 goals.
Phil Foden opened the scoring for the Citizen in the 33rd minute of the game after profiting a rebound in the box of Huddersfield, which helped the locals to seal their dominance on the pitch also in the result of the game. Only four minutes later, Julian extended the lead of Pep Guardiola’s side, and the Citizen had the game totally dominated.
The second half showed the return of the local superstar Kevin De Bruyne in the minute 57th, when he had minutes again with the Mancunian team after four months on the sidelines due to a long term ACL injury. The Belgian replaced Julian Alvarez, who has covered his absence brilliantly and now will have a great competitor for a place in the team’s lineup.
De Bruyne was fundamental in the final third of the game, as he assisted the Norwegian winger Oscar Bobb in the third goal of the Citizen in the 58th, and he combined with Jeremy Doku to give his compatriot the final goal of the game in the 74th after Phil Foden had added his second goal with a precise shot from the edge of the box at the 65th minute.
