Manchester City achieved an important 2-0 win against Sheffield United in a comfortable game for the Guardiola’s side, who imposed their dominance during the clash against the Blades with a clear percentage of 84% of ball possession and Rodri and Julian making the goals for the Mancunian team.
The Citizen based their dominance on the duo Foden-Julian, who created the best chances for the locals and got clear danger in every of their attempts in the rival box. The English international set up Rodri to open the scoring with a precise right footed finish in the 14th minute which made things really difficult for Sheffield.
Julian Alvarez extended the lead for the locals at the 61st after a wonderful play initiated by Foden, who was again instrumental in the Citizen’s attack, which struggled to disarm the Sheffield’s defensive system from the wings but was clinical from the inside gaps to destroy their rival’s ambitions in the game.
With the clash totally solved for the Citizen, the three points weren’t the best news for the local fans, who could see Kevin De Bruyne warming up in the last minutes of the game, but the Belgian’s return to the pitch will have to wait for one more week after Guardiola finally didn’t give him the chance to join the game. The Mancunian team is currently in the third position of the table, and they will wait for a favorable result from Arsenal in the week to keep on fighting for the top of the table.
