Arsenal’s coach Mikel Arteta would be focused on taking the best level from his team in the season to keep on fighting for conquering all the possible titles in English and European football, a goal which would require having a complete and solid squad to be able to compete at the highest levels in all the tournaments they face.
The Gunners, who already were eliminated from the Carabao Cup and the FA Cup, will be focused on conquering the Premier League and the Champions League titles, which wouldn’t be an easy goal to achieve for Mikel Arteta’s side, which would be required to give their best and most regular performances to have options to do it.
In this sense, Mikel Arteta would have already identified the team’s midfield as one of the main areas to strengthen in the next few months, and the manager would have put his eyes on the 24-year-old midfielder Martin Zubimendi from Real Sociedad, who would have communicated the Gunners their asking price required for the player according to the English journal The Sun.
Following these sources, Real Sociedad would have told Arsenal that they have set a €60 million release clause for the player, which wouldn’t be considered a steep amount by Arsenal, who could be evaluating whether paying it in the January transfer market window or waiting until the summer to trigger the player’s release clause and taking him to the Emirates Stadium.
