Liverpool’s striker Mohamed Salah is one of the top superstars of the African Cup of Nations to be celebrated in Ivory Coast from 13 January to 11 February, where the Egyptian striker will try to lead the Egyptian national team to conquer their eight title as champions of their continent before joining Liverpool again in the second part of the season.
In this sense, Salah recently participated in the last game played by Egypt to prepare their performance in the African competition with a friendly game against Tanzania, where the Liverpool’s number 11 shirt was placed as a center forward in the attacking line set by the Portuguese coach Rui Vitoria, the boss of the Egyptian national team.
In his new position, Salah, showing a new haircut ahead of the African tournament, set up former Aston Villa striker Trezeguet to score with a sensational through ball in the 32nd minute of the game, while in the second half missed a penalty after hitting the bar of the goal kept by Tanzania goalkeeper Aishi Manula.
The action of the penalty missed against Tanzania remembered Salah’s last error at Liverpool, where he missed a penalty against Newcastle in the last few weeks, but the action didn’t avoid Salah to lead the team towards the final victory, as he expects to do with Egypt in the African Cup of Nation with the final of the tournament and the eight title for Egypt in the mind of the Liverpool star.
