Manchester United’s coach Erik Ten Hag made a shocking decision to replace Rasmus Hojlund in the Red Devils’ game against Fulham in Old Trafford on the twenty-sixth day of the 2023/2024 Premier League season.
He hasn’t prove it, Ten Hag hit this Man United striker after poor performances
In this sense, it would be worth mentioning that the Dutchman was forced to take desperate measures to replace the important absences faced in his squad to play against the Cottagers, given that alongside Hojlund, he wasn’t able to count on Luke Shaw, Tyrell Malacia nor Aaron Wan-Bissaka on the full backs.
For this reason, he placed Victor Lindelof as a right back and sent Diogo Dalot to the left back, while Maguire and Varane were placed at the center of the team’s defense, protecting the midfield composed by Casemiro and Kobbie Mainoo.
However, the big surprise of the coach was in the front, where he decided to give minutes to a new striker to cover the absence of Rasmus Hojlund to face Fulham, making a shocking experiment in his lineup which could continue in case of being successful.
After Man United’s Hojlund’s injury, the player Ten Hag will use to replace him
This massive change in his starting XI was the presence of the 19-year-old striker Amari Forson to be up front of a forward line including Garnacho, Bruno Fernandes and Garnacho, a way to slam Antony dos Santos due to his poor performance and a response to Rashford’s poor performances when playing as a central striker. In addition, it is worth mentioning that the coach included in his squad the 20-year-old defender Tobey Collyer, who was the only signing made by the former United manager Ralf Rangnick in 2021 and could finally have his first minutes with the Mancunian senior team.
