Real Madrid could surprise Manchester United in the race for one of the top targets set by Erik Ten Hag to improve the team’s defense during the January transfer market window, where the Mancunian club would be trying to secure the player’s arrival ahead of any other team in the continent.
In this sense, according to the British media, Real Madrid could try to interfere in the signing of the player for Manchester United, as a part of the Spanish club's attempt to secure as many promising young prospects as possible in European football to dominate the Spanish and world competitions in the next few years.
For this reason, as it was reported by the journalist Simon Jones for the English journal Daily Mail, Real Madrid would have joined Manchester United in the race to sign the 21-year-old center back Jarrad Paul Branthwaite from Everton in the January transfer market window, which could be a great inconvenient for the Red Devils.
In this respect, it would be worth remembering that Everton would be asking a steep asking price reaching the €80 million for the young English star, which could led the race for the player to a big fight between the new INEOS board at Manchester United and the strong finances of Real Madrid in the next few weeks.
