Roy Keane said not having been affected by Marcus Rashford silencing celebration against Tottenham.

The retired midfielder Roy Keane went under the spotlight in the last few hours after the game that Manchester United drawed 2-2 against Tottenham in Old Trafford on the twenty-first day of the 2023/2024 Premier League season, where Marcus Rashford scored the second goal of the Red Devils and celebrated with a controversial gesture.

It happened at the 40th minute of the game, when the Mancunian striker scored his goal with the team and celebrated it sliding on the grass while he was making a shut-up gesture with his right hand, addressed to the people who have been criticizing him during the last few months for not having scored goals.

In this sense, the Manchester United legend Roy Keane, who had slammed publicly the striker through several of his interventions in Sky Sports, could have been one of the main figures pointed by Rashford in his celebration, as the retired player showed himself unaffected by the fact.

Keane asked for Rashford for more great performances with United

On the contrary, Keane asked for more commitment and quality from Rashford for the next few games, hitting back the Mancunian player. “'We need to see more, he's shown it before, he's got the quality. Why does he seem to be upset with everybody, he's got to go and enjoy it, he's playing for Man United,'"the former midfielder said speaking on Sky Sports.
