Gary Neville and Jamie Carragher named their best lineup of the Premier League season for Sky.

Sky Sports commentators and Premier League legends Gary Neville and Jamie Carragher went under the spotlight in the last few hours, as they announced their best XI for the first part of the Premier League season, surprising the fans and the media with some of their decisions on it.

Both ex players agreed in the presence of eight selections in their teams, claiming that Manchester City would be still the team to defeat in the Premier League, with Erling Haaland and Rodri as main players to be in any lineup created to win the competition, and they opted for a back four of Trent Alexander-Arnold, William Saliba, Virgil Van Dijk and Destiny Udogie into their defense.

In this sense, they also selected Declan Rice in their midfield with the pair also picking Mohamed Salah, Jarrod Bowen and Son Heung-Min as their attacking players. However, while Carragher set a 4-3-3 formation with Palmer, Rice and Bernardo Silva in the middle, Gary Neville set a 4-2-4 formation only held by Rice and Rodri, opting for not selecting any Manchester United or Chelsea player due to their bad season.

Both legends praised Declan Rice

Carragher joked on Neville's team of the season, as it included four attackers, claiming that his team would be the narrowest team ever, while both legends agreed at the spectacular season delivered by Arsenal’s midfielder Declan Rice, whom they labeled as ‘the pick of the bunch.'
