Manchester United’s new minority owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe would be focused on help his coach Erik Ten Hag to make the necessary changes in his squad to lead the team to the elite of English and European football, and the British billionaire would have started to develop his plans to get rid of some of the players set by the manager as undesirables in the squad.
In this sense, the new Manchester United’s minority stakeholder would have started to offer one of these players among the top European clubs, with FC Barcelona evaluating the option to accept the Mancunian institution’s proposal to find a good opportunity in their January transfer market window to strengthen the Xavi Hernandez team.
According to the American site TNT Sports, Manchester United would be currently trying to sell Raphael Varane, and the Red Devils would have already offered the French superstar to Barcelona for a considerable lower amount than the 40 million paid for him in 2021 to sign him from Real Madrid.
Following these sources, Manchester United would be reluctant to extend the contract of the French superstar, which is running until the end of the season, and would have already offered him to FC Barcelona for just €20 million, a proposal which could be accepted by the Catalan team in the next few weeks.
