FC Barcelona defender Ronald Araujo won't finally sign for Manchester United.

Manchester United’s coach Erik Ten Hag would have been slammed by negative news coming from the January transfer market window, as the Dutchman would have lost the race to sign one of his top priority signings for the current season, the FC Barcelona’s center back Ronaldo Araujo, who finally will stay in his club.

In this sense, in the last few hours some details of the negotiation with the Catalan club were revealed by the Catalan media, indicating some of the reasons why the Uruguayan top center-back wouldn’t have finally arrived to the Red Devils despite INEOS’ board would have developed a great interest in his signing.

According to the Catalan sporting journal Mundo Deportivo, Manchester United would have made a strong inquiry to Ronald Araujo’s agents about the future of the player, having developed firm contacts with the Uruguayan’s entourage, but they would have found a negative response from the player, who would be currently reluctant to change scene in his football career.

Araujo would be also targeted by Bayern Munich

Following these sources, Araujo would have been also targeted by Bayern Munich, whose manager Thomas Tuchel would be desperate to sign him for his project, while FC Barcelona would have been urged by the defender’s agents to sign a new contract extension to secure Araujo’s future at the club.
