Liverpool and Arsenal would be desperate to sign Gonçalo Inacio in the January market.

Liverpool and Arsenal seem to be destined to compete until the end of the season for the Premier League title, and both clubs would be desperate to make important signings during the January transfer market window to strengthen their squads and be able to defeat their rival in their race for the title.

However, both clubs could also live a big fight in the market, as they were reported by the media to be tracking the same player, with the Gunners and the Reds ready to pay the release clause of their main target in the next few weeks, once the player’s club revealed that his departure seems unavoidable.

The player who is being subject of fight between both clubs would be the Portuguese 22-year-old center back Gonçalo Inacio from Sporting CP, and according to the Portuguese journal Correio da Manhã both clubs would be strongly pushing for his signature in these previous days to the opening of the transfer market.

The player’s asking price was set at €62 million

Following these sources, the Portuguese side would be asking for €62 million for Inacio, who has been tracked since last year by Liverpool, and was the player who scored the winning goal against Arsenal last season in the UEFA Europa League, showing a trace of his great evolution as a defender, which has been confirmed this season with 23 games played for Sporting and two goals scored in European competitions.
