Bad news for coach Postecoglou.

Tottenham are having a great 2023/24 season in the Premier League. The arrival of Ange Postecoglou as coach completely changed their style and allowed them to return to being one of the best in England. In fact, they were leading the tournament for a few weeks, until injuries and the decline in performance of some players affected them.

Last Thursday The Spurs suffered a tough 4-2 defeat against Brighton & Hove Albion that prevented them from getting closer to the top of the table. That's why they needed to bounce back this Sunday against Bournemouth in London. And they got it by showing a performance that got the fans excited.

The opener came 9 minutes into the first half, when Giovani Lo Celso recovered the ball near the opponent's box and from the ground assisted Pape Sarr, who ran a few meters and shot with precision with his right foot, making it impossible for goalkeeper Neto to react. That goal made things easier for Postecoglou's team, which from then on had the calm to control the ball and created several chances to score.

After the break, Lo Celso was again key with a beautiful assist for Heung-Min Son, who inside the box shot with his left foot and doubled the lead. Then Richarlison netted the third with a drilled cross from the right. The visitors had a reaction 39 minutes into the second half through Alex Scott, but it was not enough to change the result.

Not all good news

Despite the victory, Tottenham have reason to be concerned. During the match two squad players suffered injuries that forced them to leave the field. Pape Sarr was replaced by Oliver Skipp in the first half, while Alejo Veliz went to the dressing room just minutes after coming on. The Argentine striker showed signs of great pain and left in tears, which caused concern among his teammates and fans.
