The Premier League is still the best league in the world, there is no doubt about that. However, the economic power of other teams in the world has been increasing in recent years and also the price of players is increasingly higher, so much so that today it has become more common to talk about transfers of more than 100 million euros, which often makes it impossible for some players to reach the English league.
One of the strikers who has aroused more interest in big teams in England and Europe is the 24-year-old Nigerian Victor Osimhen, who last season was crowned champion of Serie A with Napoli, team with which he scored 30 goals in all competitions, reason why his market price has skyrocketed.
In recent weeks, both Manchester United and Liverpool had him on their radar, and it was even reported that the Reds' board had scheduled a meeting with his representatives to discuss the possibility of a move to Anfield, but it seems that finally that will not happen, because Napoli has Osimhen valued at almost 200 million euros, an exorbitant amount.
However, such a sum could be paid by a couple of Premier League clubs, especially taking into account Osimhen's statements after winning the Italian league title, when he assured that he would love to play in the Premier League one day. But, the novelty of Kylian Mbappé and his possible arrival at Real Madrid this summer could put an end to any English club's aspirations to sign Osimhen.
Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis assured that he believes Victor Osimhen will remain at the Serie A champion club, and said that currently only PSG could pay what they are asking for him. "The only club that could afford Victor Osimhen is PSG. If Nasser Al Khelaifi wants to send in a bid around €200m, we'll wait and we see what happens.", he said.
