Manchester United unveiled their new goalkeeper Altay Bayindir in the last few hours, while the player made the usual interview in his first hours as a Manchester United player, and the Turkish goalkeeper surprised the media with a stunning confession about his idols as a goalkeeper.
The 25-year-old goalkeeper, who became the first Turkish player in history to play for Manchester United, joined the club from Fenerbahce for a package worth around €7 million according to the Italian journalist and transfer specialist Fabrizio Romano, who confirmed his arrival several days ago. Bayindir spoke in the media about his life in Turkey and his feelings on being a Manchester United player and his revelations were not unnoticed by the fans.
In this sense, the Turkish goalkeeper revealed how the negotiations with Manchester United were and how he feels about being the first Turkish player in history to play for the club. "We are talking every day with my family in Turkey, they live in Bursa, very near Istanbul. And my family are all happy. They are asking about everything every day. I know my responsibility, I will play in the Premier League and it's different from the Turkish league, but I am ready for everything", said Bayindir.
In this respect, the Turkish goalkeeper revealed who is his idol in United’s history and the goalkeeper he looks to get inspired. "I know I came to a big club in the world. I watched a lot of Manchester United games and I watched Edwin Van der Sar. He is my legend and I am very happy to be here and I will do my best to help this great family", revealed Bayindir.
