Newcastle United’s coach Eddie Howe could receive bad news soon as it has been revealed a surprising secret clause in the contract extension signed by the Brazilian 25-year-old playmaker Bruno Guimaraes, which could change the direction of the future of the player for the next few years, as he could leave the club to join another big club in Europe.
The club in question is FC Barcelona, as according to the Catalan journal Sport, the Brazilian could have a secret clause included in his new contract with Newcastle allowing his exit to the Catalan club in the next few years, which would consist of a special price to be paid by FC Barcelona which would be considerably lower to the one to be paid by any other club interested in Bruno.
Following these sources, in the renewal contract that he signed that will bind him to the club until 2028, a secret clause would have been included that would benefit the Catalan team, and Newcastle would be forced to sell Bruno Guimaraes for an amount between 65 and 70 million euros in case Barcelona is interested to sign the player, which would be a very lower price considering what the Brazilian footballer would be worth today.
In this sense, as it was reported by the information given by the Catalan journal Sport, despite the deal seems more than complicated today due to the financial problems faced by FC Barcelona, it can never be completely ruled out, since hypothetical important sales next summer would improve Barça's purchasing power.
