Liverpool want to steal one of Chelsea's jewels, but Blues want to stop it

When a player is very good and shows great potential, it is normal that there are two or more teams interested in him. And everything seems to indicate that Chelsea and Liverpool are about to start a battle for a player that many consider could be the new star of English football, since at 20 years of age he is valued at 30 million euros.

The player in question is Levi Colwill, an English central defender who has shown great qualities to become one of the best players in the Premier League in his position and who currently belongs to Chelsea, although he played last season on loan with Brighton, where he established himself as one of the key pieces for the success of the team that managed to get into the next edition of the Europa League.

Jürgen Klopp's priority is to sign Colwill this summer, as he believes Liverpool need to sign a promising central defender. It has even been reported that the Anfield board have already made two approaches to Chelsea about the defender's price, however on both occasions the Blues have replied that he is not for sale, as Mauricio Pochettino would be keen to work with him.

However, Chelsea have not been able to convince Levi Colwill to sign a contract extension that would commit him to the club, as the 20-year-old defender wants to be guaranteed more playing time, which would have stalled negotiations and has left the door open for Liverpool's insistence, who are expected to keep trying to sign the player.

Although he belongs to Chelsea, Levi Colwill has stated on several occasions that the ultimate idol of his childhood was Liverpool legend Steven Gerrard, as he said he had posters of him in his bedroom and tried to imitate his game.
