Liverpool’s coach Jürgen Klopp spoke about the injury players in the squad in the club’s last press conference ahead of their next game against Luton Town in Kenilworth Road on the eleventh day of the 2023/2024 Premier League season, stating the latest news on the Spanish midfielders Thiago Alcantara and Stefan Bajcetic.
In this sense, it would be worth mentioning that both players have spent most of the current year under treatment following adductor and hip injuries respectively, with the veteran former FC Barcelona player undergoing surgery to correct a long-standing problem in April and the 19-year-old ending a run of games in the side with a season-ending issue in March.
Speaking on them to the media ahead of the game against Luton Town, Jürgen Klopp explained that the club’s staff hope that Thiago can be back in the team from January 2024, which will be a sensational news for the team as the Spanish could add even more versatility to the team’s midfield, as the Reds expect to have a busy end of the season where they can be able to be leading all competitions.
In the case of Bajcetic, the German coach revealed that the player’s age and body structure would be an issue to speed up in his return, and the club would want to take care of the player to reintegrate him progressively in the team again. "He’s here, he’s training, he’s doing his stuff. We know how good he is, now we have to make sure that we help him to get a body to show that”, explained Klopp, letting know that Liverpool would follow a special physical plan for the young midfield.
