Jürgen Klopp talked about Thiago Alcantara in the last club’s press conference to express the role the player has in the squad, after  some reports from France had suggested the potential departure of Thiago Alcantara to the Saudi Pro League, where Al Alhi, the current Bobby Firmino’s club, could have made a €12 million for the Spanish midfielder and he has been rumored to be negotiated with Sevilla in the last few hours according to the Spanish press.

However, the player could have decided to stay at Liverpool according to the British media, and Jürgen Klopp himself would have expressed his confidence in the player and his latest performances in the team’s training sessions, confirming the role for him and his permanence in the team for this season, that would be important for him as it is his last year of contract with the club.

In that sense, the German coach did not hesitate to praise Thiago as a midfielder and talked about his latest conversations with the 32-year-old player, analyzing the importance he has in the Liverpool’s squad.“He’s now training, he came in and asked about his role and we spoke. He’s a super experienced player, he stepped up in that department. He has only been in team training for a week but very vocal, he is going to be very helpful for us”, said Klopp.

The player would be unavailable for the next Liverpool’s game

In this respect, it is important to remember that this could be the last season of Thiago Alcantara with Liverpool, since the player has only this year left in his contract, which will expire at the end of the season, and he has not received any offer from the club to renew it. The player would be unlikely to face Chelsea in Liverpool's next visit to Stamford Bridge, since he is returning from a long-term injury and at the moment is trying to recover his full fitness.
