It seems that Erik Ten Hag will finally have his dream goalkeeper several months after the Dutchman asked for the possibility to count on another goalkeeper better than De Gea, who lost his place in the team and finished saying goodbye to Manchester United. Ten Hag was determined to get a new goalkeeper in April, when De Gea made some errors in Europa League against Sevilla, and the Dutchman is now getting his request satisfied.
At that moment and since then, Ten Hag gave the name of Andre Onana from Inter Milan as his best option to be the 1st goalkeeper in the squad, and Manchester United started to move to get the player. During the last few weeks, the negotiations between Manchester United and Inter have slowly evolved, with the Italian team rejecting at least two offers for the player from the Red Devils.
Finally, in the last few hours, both clubs came to an agreement, while Manchester United agreed with the player the personal terms of the transfer, which will consist of a five-year contract worth €6.5/7 million plus bonuses per season.
According to the Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano, Manchester United expects Onana to sign his contract in the next few days, as the player is expected at Manchester by the end of this week. Erik Ten Hag will finally have a goalkeeper fitting the profile he wants, as Andre Onana is considered a great modern goalkeeper able to play really well with the ball in his feet. After Mason Mount, this will be the second step to sharp the Ten Hag project at Manchester United, where the fans' expectations are increasing everyday.
