Chelsea could solve one of their biggest problems in this summer transfer window in the next few hours, since they would be ready to finally sell the Belgian 30-year-old player Romelu Lukaku. After not having completed the player's move to Inter Milan or Juventus during this summer, and regarding that the player would not want to accept any offer from the Saudi league, AS Roma could finally sign the player.

The Italian team would have been reported in the last few hours to be ready to seal the deal to grant the player’s arrival to the Serie A in the next few days. As reported by the English channel SkySport, Lina Souloukou (CEO of Rome) and Anna Rabuano (Head of Financial Planning), who are mainly in charge of drafting and formalizing contracts, have recently arrived in London to complete the signing of the player in the next few hours.

Following these sources, Lukaku would have already agreed to reduce his Chelsea salary to make a move to the Italian league as he already did when he was loaned to Inter Milan. According to the information given by SkySport, the loan transfer fee offered by Roma would be around €5 million plus bonuses and the player would be offered a one-year contract worth €7.5 million.

Lukaku will meet Mourinho again

In this sense, Lukaku could join a team coached by Jose Mourinho again. According to the Italian press the Portuguese coach would be a great admirer of the player, and he would have already spoken with Lukaku to explained him the role expected from him in his project in AS Roma, once Mourinho already coached Lukaku in Chelsea (2013/2014) and Manchester United (2017/2018), with 76 games played and 33 goals scored by Lukaku under the Portuguese’s coach management.
