De Gea smiles, the price Manchester United wants to pay for Onana

Erik Ten Hag’s desire of signing a new goalkeeper for Manchester United seems everyday more difficult to be satisfied. The Dutchman has asked the club for a new man at the goal with specific characteristics, as the potential new Manchester United goalkeeper must be consistent enough with the ball on his feet and able to help the team to break low blocks through the positional play.

Andre Onana, from Inter Milan, was identified as the Dutchman’s top target in this summer transfer window and Manchester United opened talks with the Italian team in the last few days, having Inter set the value of the player at €50 million. However, Manchester United hasn’t been able to make the expected bid for the goalkeeper due to the UEFA Financial Fair Play Regulations whose restrictions don’t allow the club to make such a big investment at the moment.

In this sense, Ten Hag and Manchester United have decided to turn their eyes to other goalkeepers such as Justin Bijlow from Feyenoord and Kevin Trapp from Eintracht Frankfurt, while Onana is being linked with a big move to Al Nassr, and David De Gea is a free agent in the transfer market after his contract with United expired last June.    

Could the Spanish goalkeeper be an option for United?

Not having a main option as the club’s goalkeeper, Manchester United could be considering a potential De Gea return, which could be a big surprise for the Manchester United fans, but at the moment it seems the most favorable option for the club’s economy and it is worth to say that a possible offer for the Dea could be made in the next few hours to have the Spanish goalkeeper back at the club.
