Manchester City has just won the treble

Manchester City has just finished what has probably been the best season in its history, as the team led by Pep Guardiola not only defeated their fierce rivals in the FA Cup final, but also beat Arsenal in the Premier League title race and won their first Champions League in the club's history.

It is no secret that Manchester City's success has come through the huge financial boost the club has received in recent times, with them being able to sign great players to put at Guardiola's disposal. However, the team is also not exempt from having major departures and this summer they already suffered one, as Ilkay Gundogan has signed as a free agent with FC Barcelona.

In view of this, Pep Guardiola has begun to analyze which players could arrive at the Etihad Stadium this summer and thus make up for the absence of Gundogan, who became one of the most important players in the scheme of the Spanish tactician during the last season. The advantage of Manchester City, compared to other clubs such as Mancheser United is that the Citizens have great economic solvency, so they can sign virtually any player they have as a target.

In that sense, and with the idea of filling the void left by the departure of Gundogan, Pep Guardiola and the Manchester City board made an offer to West Ham to buy 24-year-old English midfielder Declan Rice, who has aroused the interest of other teams in England such as Arsenal and Manchester United.

Declan Rice's new destination

Although Manchester City made an offer for Declan Rice, Arsenal increased the amount offered by the Citizens and, according to journalist Fabrizio Romano, Guardiola and City have no intention of matching that offer which is around 115 million euros. Everything seems to indicate that the signing of Declan Rice to Arsenal will be completed between today and tomorrow.
