The Liverpool ex player Xherdan Shaqiri was under the spotlight in the last few hours as he became capital in the Switzerland’s 3-3 draw against Belarus in the AFG Arena in the seventh day of the Euro 2024 qualifiers in the group I, where the player’s performance against the Eastern European team was crucial to remain in the second position of the group behind Romania.

 

Shaqiri, who currently plays in the MLS for Chicago Fire, played for Liverpool from 2018 to 2021 under the Jürgen Klopp’s management, playing 63 games with the Reds, scoring eight goals and giving nine assists in all competitions for the Anfield team before joining Lyon, his last European club before stating his new challenge at the MLS in 2022.

However, he showed against Belarus to have still the quality that allowed him to play for Liverpool, and he scored a superb goal to open the scoring for the Swiss national team face the Eastern European team at the 28th minute of the game with a sensational goal that very quickly was shared by the Liverpool fans through the social media.

He scored a sensational goal from outside the box

The 30-year-old playmaker, placed in a central position outside the box perfiled his left foot to sent a powerful shot to the far post where the rival goalkeeper could not reach the ball, leaving a sensational play that amazed the football fans, especially the ones who support Liverpool, who shared his video with the caption “he still got it” referring to the quality shown by the Swiss player two players later than his departure from the Anfield team.
