Pep Guardiola would be really disappointed with the news

Manchester City’s coach Pep Guardiola would have received bad news in the last few days after knowing he could lose the race for signing an important talent for the Citizen in the next summer transfer market window, as FC Barcelona was reported to be closer to seal a deal for the player in the next few months.

The player in question is the Spanish versatile playmaker Dani Olmo from RB Leipzig, who according to the German site BILD would be keen on leaving the German club next summer, and Manchester City would have appeared as the main team interested in the player’s signing alongside FC Barcelona, where the player started his career in 2013, as a member of the Catalan’s team academy.

In this sense, the Spanish player, signed by RB Leipzig in 2020 for €30 million and currently valued at least in €60 million, would have been appointed by Pep Guardiola as a versatile quality player to sign next summer, but following the information given by BILD in the last few hours, Olmo would be totally determined to sign for FC Barcelona, which could make the difference and give some advantage to the Catalan team.

The Catalan club would make a huge effort to sign the player

In this respect, the release clause of the player, valued at €60 million seems an important barrier for FC Barcelona who would have set the player as their next big signing for 2024 and would count on the preference of the player as their main help to seal a deal for the singing of their ex former player, hijacking the potential arrival of Olmo to Manchester City
