Manchester United's defender Harry Maguire could face troubles again in Manchester United, as he remained out of the squad to travel to Germany to face Bayern Munchen in the Champions League’s opening game for the Red Devils in the Allianz Arena.
The English defender, who was not part of the plans of Ten Hag in the first days of the season against Wolverhampton, had returned to the team in the last game with the club before the international break, as the Mancunian team had the absence of Raphael Varane and Erik Ten Hag would have tried to replace him with Maguire.
In this sense, Maguire would have stayed at Manchester as was the case of Sofyan Amrabat, Mason Mount, Aaron Wan-Bissaka or Varane himself, while Tom Heaton and Lisandro Martinez would have returned to the squad to face Bayern Munchen in the next few hours.
In this respect, the Manchester United’s traveling squad who will fly to Germany to face Bayern Munchen would also have some young players ready to cover the team’s absences and make an impact on the field for the Red Devils in case of having minutes in the Allianz Arena. Erik Ten Hag will count on academy players like Dan Gore, Omari Forson or Hannibal, who already scored his first goal for Manchester United in their 1-3 defeat against Brighton in Old Trafford.
