Harsh consequences, Everton will have to abide by a heavy sanction

Everton announced this Friday the appeal against the ten-point sanction imposed on them by an independent commission of the Premier League last week. After admitting that it violated profitability and sustainability regulations in 2021-2022 and appealing its historic sanction, the Toffees are obliged to present clarity in their accounts before December 31, in order to avoid another reduction in March for a new controversy of this research.

The Liverpool club already announced its intention to appeal when it learned of the sanction, the largest in the history of the Premier League and which was the result of the competition's complaint for breaking the league's sustainability and profits rule.

The Liverpool city team exceeded the allowed limit of 132.6 million dollars for three seasons under this concept by 25.2 million dollars, charges that were presented in February were resolved at the end of November, although not one hundred percent. The commission would be tougher. Everton had losses of 124 million during the 2021-2022 season, while the Premier only allows total losses of 105 million over three years.

Everton have today lodged their appeal with the chairman of the Premier League judicial panel against a Premier League commission's decision to impose a 10-point deduction on the club. An appeal board will now be appointed to hear the case, Everton said in a statement.
