Manchester United and their coach Erik Ten Hag could receive bad news from the transfer market in the next few hours, as one of the Dutchman’s latest targets for his project could be close to signing for another team. The Mancunian institution is really struggling in the market, in which they are having long negotiations for the players requested by their coach, and this time, the delay in making an approach, could make Ten Hag say goodbye to a big superstar.
We talk about the Portuguese wonderkid Joao Felix, who played for Chelsea last week on a loan from Atletico de Madrid, completing a decent season with the Blues and getting some Premier League experience, a key aspect that made Erik Ten Hag put his eyes on him. The 23-year-old player is not having a good time at Atletico de Madrid, whose coach, Diego Simeone doesn’t count on him, and he is looking for an exit somewhere else.
The huge discomfort of Joao and Atletico de Madrid is increasing the need to solve the player’s situation at the club, who paid €127 million for him in 2019 and could be offering him on a loan transfer to a new destination. In this sense, Manchester United showed a great interest for the player, but the Mancunian team hasn’t concreted anything at the moment, and that can make other teams to overcome them in the race to sign the player.
Given that situation, FC Barcelona and the Joao’s former club Benfica could have made an approach to the player through the Joao’s agent, Jorge Mendes, and a transfer could be expected in the next few weeks, according to the Spanish press, which is monitoring the player situation, everyday closer and closer to be solved with Manchester United apparently out of the race to sign the player.
