The Chelsea legend spoke on the controversy around the English winger

Former Chelsea player John Obi Mikel slammed Manchester United’s manager Erik Ten Hag in the last few hours when speaking about the controversy created around the figure of Jadon Sancho, who currently is being kept apart from United’s squad by the Dutch manager due to the player’s statements on the coach after being dropped from the game against Arsenal before the international break.

In this respect, it has been revealed in the last few hours that Manchester United could be planning to offload Sancho in January if he still refuses to apologize Ten Hag for his words about the coach, which at this moment seems to be unlikely, while former Chelsea player John Obi Mikel talked about the situation in The Obi One podcast, slamming the United’s coach.

The retired Nigerian player criticized the fact that Ten Hag has dealt with the issue with the player publicly, and he has claimed that Sir Alex Ferguson would never have dealt with this kind of situation in that way. “Everybody is going about Sancho not apologizing, I have a different view on that. My view is that the manager shouldn't have said what he said in public”, said Obi Mikel.

Manchester United would be evaluating options to offload the player soon

Mikel insisted on blaming Ten Hag for the controversy created. "It doesn't matter how he handled it but he handled it. If his decision was for the player not to be involved anymore, that's it. You cannot come out publicly and criticize a player and say he wasn't training really well', said the Nigerian ex player, while Manchester United would be already evaluating options to offload the player in the next few months.
